Charles C. Rice, former president of the Atlanta, Georgia, chapter, died of a heart attack on September 29. Following his year as chapter president, Rice served as Region 1’s vice president from 1977-1978. Rice was the deputy manager of the American Red Cross in Atlanta and was extremely active in his community as a member of numerous clubs and associations. He also taught Sunday school at his church. He will be greatly missed by all of his friends in the Society. SAM-NI
