The programming committee for the 78th Annual SAM International Business Conference is pleased to announce the acceptance of the presentation Impact of Enterprise Architecture on Integrations by Andrew McNeal of Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania.
Presentation Abstract: The integration of two organizations, either by merger or acquisition, is an arduous task to manage. To be successful, strong leadership characteristics and project management skills are required. Designing and progressing toward post-integration culture and industrial competitiveness can be influenced from several factors. One of these factors is the Enterprise Architecture of the post-integration organization. This new architecture may be a combination of the two previous organizations’ enterprise architectures, or a new architecture entirely. The new enterprise architecture for the organization is where business processes and procedures will be defined and executed. The architecture is where the organization will complete data collection and analysis. This will be the foundation to a competitive organization. Extensive research has been conducted on enterprise architectures for a single organization. However, the topic of merging enterprise architecture is not addressed. This research provides a framework for developing an enterprise architecture for organizations undertaking a merger or acquisition.
