Dr. Fiorito’s influence spans decades of distinguished academic work. Her research, featured in top-tier journals such as the International Journal of Retail and Distribution Management, Journal of Retailing and Consumer Services, and Entrepreneurship: Theory and Practice, has addressed critical topics like retail technology, buyer behavior, and consumer customization. Her scholarship has shaped both theoretical discussions and practical approaches in management.
As an author of foundational textbooks, including Retail Buying: Practices and Policies in a Global Economy and Retail Buying: Better Purchasing and Inventory Control, Dr. Fiorito has bridged the gap between classroom learning and real-world application. These texts continue to serve as core resources in management and retail education programs across the country.
A three-time recipient of Florida State University’s Teaching Award, Dr. Fiorito is also recognized for her strong commitment to student learning and mentorship. Her classrooms are known for being engaging, rigorous, and supportive, which are all key traits of an exceptional educator.
Dr. Fiorito’s leadership also extends into professional service. She was the first female president of the American Collegiate Retailing Association and has served on the board of the Florida Retail Federation. Her selection as a research fellow with the Jim Moran Institute for Global Entrepreneurship Faculty Fellows further demonstrates her lasting dedication to innovation in education.
