The Society for Advancement of Management is proud to recognize the Valdosta State University Collegiate Chapter for placing third in the large chapter division of the 2025 Campus Chapter Performance Program. This national recognition honors chapters that demonstrate outstanding leadership, programming, and professional development throughout the academic year.

Under the guidance of Chapter Advisor Dr. Wenjuan Guo, the VSU chapter remained actively engaged with students, faculty, and the local business community through a variety of impactful events and initiatives. The chapter successfully balanced academic enrichment with community connection, embodying SAM’s mission to advance professional management practices and student leadership development.

Throughout 2024 and into 2025, VSU-SAM hosted and participated in a broad spectrum of events that enriched the student experience. Highlights included the “Career Options in Healthcare” speaker panel, a professional communication skills workshop, and resume building events in collaboration with VSU-ENACTUS. The chapter also hosted fun and engaging events like Game Night and Trivia Night, helping students build camaraderie while reinforcing business knowledge.

Members of the chapter proudly represented VSU at the 2024 SAM International Collegiate Business Skills Championships in Orlando, Florida, securing second place overall in the competition, along with third place in the case competition. Additionally, a chapter member earned first place in the Open Division’s Extemporaneous Speech competition.

VSU-SAM also maintained a strong campus presence through involvement in open house events, campus move-in support, and social media engagement. These efforts not only showcased the chapter’s commitment to the university community but also positioned SAM as a vital resource for business students at Valdosta State.

The chapter’s consistent dedication, creativity, and professional growth earned them this well-deserved national honor. SAM congratulates Valdosta State University’s Collegiate Chapter on their third-place finish and looks forward to their continued excellence and impact.
