At New England Institute of Technology, Jaydan Fabe is redefining what it means to be a management student. As a 2026 Regional Outstanding Student Award recipient, his journey highlights a powerful truth. Leadership and management are not confined to a single discipline. They are skills that shape success across every field.
As an architecture student, Jaydan’s academic path is rooted in design, structure, and technical precision. Yet through his involvement in the Society for Advancement of Management, he discovered something broader. The ability to lead, collaborate, and think strategically is just as essential to building projects as it is to building organizations.
That realization has shaped his experience in meaningful ways. Rather than treating SAM as something outside his major, Jaydan fully embraced it as an extension of his development. His involvement opened doors to new perspectives, allowing him to connect management principles with real-world applications in architecture, construction, and design.
One of the most significant milestones in his journey was receiving the Papitto Scholarship, which helped make it possible for him to pursue his bachelor’s degree. More than financial support, the scholarship represented recognition of his effort, potential, and commitment to growth. It allowed him to focus more fully on his academic and professional development while continuing to expand his involvement in SAM.
Jaydan’s ability to apply what he has learned is evident in his achievements. Competing in SAM events, he rose to the top of his division, earning recognition as the leading International Business student and securing a win in the Business Knowledge Bowl. These accomplishments are particularly notable given that his primary field of study is not business. They reflect not only his work ethic, but also his ability to translate knowledge across disciplines and perform at a high level in unfamiliar environments.
His leadership development has extended beyond competition. Through participation in the SAM Leadership Academy, Jaydan strengthened his communication, teamwork, and decision-making skills, ultimately becoming the top-performing student in his group. That experience translated directly into his role as a teaching assistant in the architecture department, where he now supports other students in developing technical skills and navigating their coursework.
On campus, Jaydan’s impact continues through his roles as a resident assistant and tour guide. In these positions, he fosters community, supports student development, and helps create a welcoming environment for both current and prospective students. Whether organizing events, mentoring peers, or representing the institution to visitors, he consistently demonstrates professionalism, empathy, and a commitment to service.
Within SAM, his contributions reflect the same mindset. From recruiting new members to supporting chapter initiatives and events, Jaydan approaches leadership as an opportunity to strengthen the group as a whole. His advisor describes him as dependable, thoughtful, and willing to step forward when needed, someone who leads not for recognition, but to support others and contribute to a shared goal.
Balancing academic excellence, leadership responsibilities, and campus involvement requires focus and determination. Jaydan has demonstrated both, maintaining a strong academic record while actively engaging in experiences that challenge and expand his skill set. More importantly, he has done so with a sense of humility and purpose that defines his approach to leadership.
The Regional Outstanding Student Award exists to recognize students who demonstrate growth, development, and meaningful contribution over time. Jaydan Fabe’s journey reflects all three. He has taken opportunities beyond his field of study, embraced new challenges, and applied what he has learned in ways that strengthen both himself and those around him.
As he continues his path in architecture, there is little doubt that the leadership and management skills he has developed will remain central to his success. His story is a reminder that the strongest professionals are not defined solely by their technical expertise, but by their ability to lead, adapt, and collaborate.
Jaydan Fabe is not just building structures. He is building the foundation for a career shaped by leadership, service, and a commitment to excellence.
