The Society for Advancement of Management (SAM) is proud to recognize Jamison Lewis, a remarkable leader whose dedication, academic excellence, and service have made a lasting impact on both the SAM community and the broader world of higher education.

Leadership Rooted in Excellence

A proud Marshall University alumnus, Jamison graduated in 2024 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management, maintaining a perfect 4.0 GPA. He is now pursuing his MBA while serving as a Graduate Assistant in the Office of the Provost and Academic Affairs, balancing academic rigor with leadership and service to others. His drive to lead by example and his ability to inspire peers define his approach to both education and management.

Within SAM, Jamison has built an extraordinary record of achievement. He served as President of the Marshall University SAM chapter from 2022 to 2023 after earlier roles as Senior Vice President and Vice President of Marketing and Public Relations. Under his leadership, the chapter reached unprecedented levels of success and national recognition.

Historic Achievements and Chapter Success

During Jamison’s time in leadership, the Marshall University SAM chapter was named Organization of the Year (2021–22), won First Place in the 2022 Campus Chapter Performance Program, and captured 29 awards at SAM IBC 2022, the highest number ever earned by a single chapter at one conference. The following year, his chapter claimed First Place in the 2023 Collegiate Case Study Competition (Open Division).

Jamison also made history as the first SAM member ever to place in the Business Knowledge Bowl Competition across all three divisions—Associate, Undergraduate, and Open. His individual accomplishments include earning the SAM Outstanding Student Award (National Winner) in both 2022 and 2023, demonstrating a consistent standard of excellence and commitment to leadership.

Beyond SAM: Expanding Influence and Impact

Jamison’s leadership extends beyond SAM through his involvement in Delta Sigma Pi, the professional business fraternity. He currently serves as an Assistant District Director for the 2024–26 term, advising the Marshall University chapter that was recognized as the university’s Most Improved Organization (2024–25). As an undergraduate, he served as Vice President of Professional Activities, where he founded the Shark Tank Innovation Challenge, secured corporate sponsorships, and organized professional development events such as the Leaders of Lewis Conference, an initiative designed to empower first-year business students.

Jamison’s record of achievement tells a story of vision, dedication, and humility. He exemplifies the spirit of service that defines true leadership and continues to inspire students to take initiative, pursue excellence, and create opportunities for others. His journey reminds us that leadership is not only about accomplishments but also about character, empathy, and the desire to make a meaningful impact.
