The Society for Advancement of Management (SAM), the nation’s oldest professional management organization founded in 1912, is pleased to announce the re-election of Mikala Groshong as Treasurer for a second two-year term.

Groshong, a Fund Accountant with MUFG Capital Analytics, has brought precision, transparency, and forward-thinking stewardship to SAM’s financial operations. Her re-election reflects the confidence of the SAM membership in her continued leadership and her deep commitment to the organization’s mission.

Groshong earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Stephen F. Austin State University, where she served as president of the university’s SAM chapter for over three years. In 2023, she became youngest person ever to hold an officer position within the organization. In 2023, she received the SAM Bronze Leadership Award in recognition of her service as a national director.

“Mikala’s contributions to SAM go far beyond her financial expertise,” said Hank Johnson, Vice-President of the Society for Advancement of Management. “She brings a strong sense of purpose, a deep connection to our student chapters, and a passion for supporting future leaders. Her re-election is a reflection of her outstanding work and the trust she has earned across our organization.”

Groshong continues to inspire the SAM and SFA communities through active mentorship and involvement. “I love giving back to SAM students because it brings me back to my incredible time on campus,” Groshong said in an article for SFA following the SAM International Business Conference. “Everyone in this organization wants to help each other succeed — in business, in college, and in every other aspect. I will continue to give back and help every SAM and SFA student I can.”

SAM congratulates Mikala Groshong on her re-election and celebrates her continued service as an emerging leader in the national management community.
