The Society for Advancement of Management (SAM), one of the nation’s oldest professional management organizations, proudly announces the election of Bob Garner as its new Second Vice President.
With a distinguished career that spans both academia and private enterprise, Bob Garner brings over three decades of entrepreneurial leadership, teaching excellence, and service to the Society. Garner currently serves as Teaching Faculty and Entrepreneur in Residence at the Jim Moran College of Entrepreneurship at Florida State University. His expertise in franchising, negotiation, and managing growth has shaped hundreds of students and entrepreneurs across the region.
Garner’s professional journey includes managing industrial operations, building and operating successful franchise restaurants, and advising future business leaders. His academic career is equally impressive. He has received the Florida State University Undergraduate Teaching Award and multiple accolades from SAM, including numerous Outstanding Chapter Advisor Awards and the Phil Carroll Advancement of Management Award in Management Education.
“Bob’s commitment to mentorship, education, and advancing ethical management aligns perfectly with SAM’s mission,” said Patrick Endicott, Executive Director of the Society for Advancement of Management. “His deep understanding of entrepreneurship and organizational leadership will be an asset to our national initiatives.”
In addition to his academic and professional achievements, Garner is deeply engaged in community service. He has taught entrepreneurship in high schools, participated in international mission work, and served on the Independent Living Services Advisory Council for the state of Florida.
