The Society for Advancement of Management is proud to recognize the Ohio Northern University Collegiate Chapter for earning Second Place in the Small Chapter Division of the 2025 Campus Chapter Performance Program. This national honor reflects the chapter’s unwavering commitment to student leadership, professional development, and community engagement throughout the academic year.

Under the guidance of Chapter Advisor Dr. Kristie McHugh and leadership from Chapter President Megan Dearth, the Ohio Northern University chapter demonstrated excellence through active participation in fundraising, service, and educational initiatives. The chapter’s efforts showcased a spirit of collaboration and creativity that captured the essence of the SAM mission.

Among the chapter’s many accomplishments this year:

  • Campus Engagement: ONU SAM members participated in the Dicke College of Business Administration’s Executive Week, contributing to events like Professionalism 101, BizBash, and a creative door decorating contest. Their efforts earned them a tie for second place in a competition among 11 student organizations.
  • Community Impact: The chapter raised over $190 through a Penny War competition to support the Beatitudes Community Center in Ada, Ohio. They also served approximately 100 local children during a community Trunk or Treat event on campus.
  • Professional Development: The group hosted a successful Informational Meeting to recruit new members, collaborated with Polar Careers on a workshop focused on resumes and LinkedIn profiles, and organized multiple gatherings to foster camaraderie and support among members.
  • Chapter Growth and Leadership: With 13 active local members and 10 national members, the chapter maintained a solid foundation of engaged students committed to advancing their skills and contributing to the SAM community.

Ohio Northern University’s achievement in the Campus Chapter Performance Program is especially meaningful considering their strong comeback and renewed momentum following previous years of limited recognition. Their second-place finish affirms the chapter’s dedication to meaningful student engagement and impactful programming.

Congratulations to the ONU SAM Chapter on this well-deserved recognition!
