The Society for Advancement of Management proudly recognizes Megan Kashuba as the 2025 International Collegiate Member of the Year, honoring her exceptional academic record, visionary leadership, and steadfast commitment to advancing the values of SAM at both the chapter and national levels.
A standout student at the New England Institute of Technology (NEIT), Megan is pursuing her Bachelor of Science in Business Management, having already completed her Associate degree with distinction. Maintaining a 3.96 GPA while balancing leadership responsibilities, employment, and community involvement, she exemplifies the kind of multifaceted excellence SAM seeks to recognize.
As Chapter President of NEIT’s SAM chapter, Megan led with strategic insight and a deep sense of purpose. She reenergized the chapter by increasing membership, broadening outreach beyond business majors, and creating a more inclusive and collaborative space for student involvement. Under her guidance, chapter participation surged, and interdisciplinary engagement became a defining strength of their campus presence.
Megan’s leadership extends far beyond administrative duties. She mentors students one-on-one, cultivates leadership in others, and consistently models servant leadership principles. Whether organizing speaker events, coordinating charitable initiatives, or managing chapter operations, she approaches every task with empathy and intentionality. Her faculty advisor, Professor Hank Johnson, noted, “Megan acts as a guiding force who cultivates leadership potential in those around her… she displays a warmth and generosity that encourage others to be the best versions of themselves.”
Her contributions to SAM’s International Business Skills Championship have also been remarkable. As team captain, Megan led NEIT to a second-place finish in the written case competition. More importantly, she ensured that each member was prepared, supported, and confident, often sacrificing her own time to help refine others’ presentations and strengthen team performance.
Outside of SAM, Megan has built a strong professional foundation as a business analyst at The Hilb Group. She has applied her analytical and organizational strengths to client presentations and process improvements, showcasing her ability to translate classroom knowledge into meaningful, real-world impact. Her resume also reflects significant initiative in prior roles, including as a lab assistant and campus tour guide, where she played key roles in mentoring and promoting student engagement.
In her personal narrative, Megan reflected on how SAM gave her the chance to grow personally and professionally through meaningful experiences and lasting connections. “The SAMily is more than just a term,” she shared. “It represents the support, encouragement, and shared experiences that make this organization so impactful.”
As Megan prepares for her fourth SAM conference, her journey is a testament to how collegiate leadership can create a ripple effect by empowering others, strengthening communities, and setting the stage for lifelong success. She embodies the heart of SAM: growth through service, learning through action, and leadership grounded in character.
Congratulations to Megan Kashuba, a true role model for the SAM community and a deserving recipient of this year’s International Collegiate Member of the Year award.
