The Society for Advancement of Management proudly recognizes Lydia Sattler as a recipient of the 2025 Regional Outstanding Student Award. Lydia, a senior at Stephen F. Austin State University, exemplifies the values of leadership, service, and excellence that define SAM’s student membership.

Lydia is pursuing her Bachelor of Business Administration in Management and is set to graduate Magna Cum Laude in December 2024. She currently serves as Vice President of Membership for the Stephen F. Austin SAM Chapter and has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to growing the organization’s presence on campus. Lydia’s dedication to creating a welcoming and supportive community within the Rusche College of Business has inspired many students, including those who may have initially been hesitant to join.

A standout member of the SAM Case Competition team, Lydia has been instrumental in preparing her group to represent Stephen F. Austin at the SAM International Business Conference. Her passion for the organization is evident in everything she does—from planning meetings and promoting membership, to arranging guest speakers and helping coordinate fundraisers. As noted by her faculty advisor, Lydia’s work helped ensure that SFA was represented by both graduate and undergraduate teams this year.

Beyond the classroom and the boardroom, Lydia is a high-performing NCAA Division I athlete. As a goalkeeper for the SFA Women’s Soccer Team, she helped secure both Western Athletic and Southland Conference championships and earned a place in the university’s record books with 175 career saves—ranking fifth in school history. Her experiences as a student-athlete have shaped her strong work ethic, strategic mindset, and leadership on and off the field.

Lydia also brings a broad range of professional experience, from her early work in her family’s vineyard business to her roles in retail sales and customer service. Her background showcases not only her adaptability but also her entrepreneurial spirit, having successfully marketed and sold over $85,000 in vineyard equipment using digital platforms.

When reflecting on her time with SAM, Lydia describes the organization as a turning point in her college career. “I knew from the first meeting that this was something I needed to be a part of,” she shared. “Now, I have the opportunity to encourage others to join and find the same sense of purpose and growth that I did.”

The Society for Advancement of Management celebrates Lydia Sattler’s achievements and congratulates her on being named a 2025 Regional Outstanding Student Award recipient. Her blend of academic success, team leadership, and community engagement stands as a model for aspiring student leaders across the country.
