The Society for Advancement of Management is proud to recognize Jaret Acosta as a recipient of the 2025 Regional Outstanding Student Award. A Management major at Stephen F. Austin State University (SFASU), Jaret exemplifies the dedication, leadership, and integrity that SAM aims to inspire in the next generation of business professionals.
Jaret currently serves as Executive Vice President of the SAM chapter at SFASU, a role he took on with remarkable energy and commitment. Balancing leadership responsibilities, a rigorous academic schedule, and a growing family that recently welcomed a new son in November, Jaret has consistently contributed in meaningful ways to his SAM chapter. Whether coordinating events, mentoring fellow students, or leading the chapter through the annual SAM International Business Conference competitions, Jaret has shown what it means to lead with both heart and perseverance.
As a transfer student, Jaret credits SAM with transforming his college experience. The organization’s workshops, networking opportunities, and leadership training helped him evolve from a curious newcomer into a confident and inspiring student leader. His personal narrative highlights his passion for supporting others, sharing that one of his favorite responsibilities is speaking in front of new members and encouraging them to reflect on how they can grow and improve as leaders.
Jaret’s professional journey is equally impressive. With years of management experience at McDonald’s and a leadership internship at Kohl’s, he has applied classroom knowledge in real-world settings. He has optimized operations, enhanced customer service, and mentored team members. His ability to improve processes and strengthen sales reflects his readiness to excel in the next chapter of his career.
Faculty advisor Dr. Gina Harden praised Jaret’s growth and dedication, stating, “Jaret is a definite asset to our chapter of SAM here at SFA, finding a way in his busy life to make room for every activity, meeting, and the Case Competition. He is paying it forward by mentoring the other SAM members at SFA, showing them the path to grow their own professional lives.”
Jaret Acosta represents the best of what SAM stands for: professional growth, academic achievement, and service to others. We are proud to celebrate his accomplishments and look forward to the positive impact he will continue to make in the world of management and beyond.
