The programming committee for the 77th Annual SAM International Business Conference is pleased to announce the acceptance of the presentation Creating Customer Value Through Innovation and Quality in Project Management, by Jack Cook and Jared Cook of SUNY Brockport and Doane University.
Presentation Abstract: To distinguish themselves from the competition and increase the likelihood of consumer purchase, firms strive to develop and market quality products and services. This paper proposes ways an organization can create value for its customers through innovation. In addition, the work examines the role of project managers within organizations and explores how their functions inhibit or help build customer value. While no exact blueprint exists for creating value through innovation and quality, to be effective, exploration and deviation from the known plan must occur. With all parties aligned with and supportive of the desired task, including executive management, a collaborative effort will provide a cohesive setting for project managers to devise and implement innovative value-added processes.
