Transformation of Workplace Operations in a Post-Pandemic World

The programming committee for the 77th Annual SAM International Business Conference is pleased to announce the acceptance of the presentation Transformation of Workplace Operations in a Post-Pandemic World by Nicholas DeBellis and Ian Lessig of Bloomsburg University.

Presentation Abstract: Recent developments related to the COVID-19 pandemic have changed the globe. Human Resources (H.R.) has become a much more essential component to running a successful business throughout the past few decades. H.R. in almost any organization plays a vital role in the formulation of business strategy. H.R. managers commonly handle diversity and inclusion, workplace problems, hiring, recruiting, training, and many more tasks. H.R. in the business is a compelling department to be in, but it can also be highly demanding. If the department faces challenges and fails to remedy them, the whole business can fail. That is why every H.R. department must stay up to date in the news locally and nationwide. H.R. practices are no bystander to this forced transformation of life as we know it. Proven procedures regarding proper H.R. management have needed to be redesigned or thrown out altogether to meet the demands of an evolving workforce environment. This research paper utilizes qualitative research methods to inspect the repercussions of the worldwide pandemic on business operations in the administrative sector. This study also reveals how H.R. managers adapt their strategies to fit a post-pandemic world. Finally, this research will discuss the advantages and disadvantages that have changed as employees shift to working at home.
