The programming committee for the 77th Annual SAM International Business Conference is pleased to announce the acceptance of the presentation The Role Of Transformational Leaders In Creating An Innovative-Focused Collaborative Culture, authored by Linda Miller and Andrew Miller of Lead with Innovation and Grand Canyon University.

Presentation Abstract:

This paper addresses the role of a transformational leader in creating an innovative-focused collaborative culture that influences, motivates, and rewards innovative work behavior. The heart of a resilient and innovative organization is a perspective that innovative processes start at the top. Transformational leaders shape culture and collaboration with a mindset and influence the innovation management environment and social systems. One of the essential elements of a collaborative culture is leaders who value a growth mindset facilitating employee work commitment. Leaders who understand the existential need to create, promote, and reward a culture of collaboration will empower employees to engage and continuously generate the best ideas effectively using resources delivering customer value, mature processes boosting business efficiencies enabling productivity, and creating a sustainable competitive advantage. In addition, innovative processes and their environment require leaders who can mature the culture with collaborative innovation capabilities to reduce innovation-decision gaps and eliminate decision waste, focusing on sustainable profitability outcomes and stakeholder value.
