Practicing Kaizen - Continuous Improvement Over Time

The programming committee for the 77th Annual SAM International Business Conference is pleased to announce the acceptance of the presentation Practicing Kaizen: Continuous Improvement Over Time, authored by Angela Even from Southern New Hampshire University.

Presentation Abstract: The number of employees working away from the office has skyrocketed since the start of the pandemic. Leaders scramble to create policies, procedures, expectations, and measurements to track remote employee performance and outcomes. Organizations want to know the most effective way to lead remote employees and still get the outcomes that match the organization’s mission. Remote work, technology changes, social issues, and disruption are just a few of the issues plaguing organizations currently. For organizations to keep up, they must transform, be willing to change, and continuously improve. Organizations should be encouraged to adopt continuous improvement over time. These changes will facilitate positive workplace evolution if handled appropriately. Since the pandemic began, organizations have struggled to survive. Their survival depends on their ability to evolve and be flexible in times of continuous change and uncertainty. The Kaizen Method is a method that allows organizations to make small changes over time aimed at improvement. These changes will either lead to improvement or be discarded. The process will allow organizations to improve over time continuously. The ability to continuously improve over time allows organizations to survive and thrive. The continuous improvement model provides an organization with a simple method to allow change and encourage flexibility. Learning about Kaizen and other continuous improvement practices can assist an organization in making positive organizational changes aimed at continuous improvement.
