This year at SAMIBC2020 we are pleased to announce another of our presenters, Rambod Dargahi from Southeastern Louisiana University. Rambod will be presenting, Studying the Role of Feedback System in a Crowdsourcing Idea Generation Process.

Presentation Abstract: Crowdsourcing has become a popular way for companies to solicit new ideas from external sources. Online communities are a popular way to initiate social interaction with the crowd and take advantage of their opinions, ideas, and solutions. In such communities, establishing a communication mechanism, also known as an online feedback system, seems crucial. This research attempts to investigate the effect of feedback source (expert vs. peer) and feedback sign (negative vs. positive) on the motivation of individuals and the innovativeness level of their submissions in the crowdsourcing idea generation context. The findings of this study indicate that providing feedback, in general, and negative feedback from an expert of a company, in particular, motivate more individuals to improve the innovativeness level of their submissions.
