Senior and student S.A.M. members from the Philadelphia area met for their annual October luncheon on October 25 and, among other things, discussed plans for their “Job Survival Weekend” in February.
The October luncheon is a longstanding tradition among Philadelphia members. Tom Dougherty, vice-president for student chapters for the Philadelphia chapter, who acted as master of ceremonies, has been attending the gatherings since 1974, when he was a member of the S.A.M. student chapter at Bucks County Community College.
Along with officers and board members from the Philadelphia senior chapter, the luncheon brought out a good number of students from the 17 campus chapters in the area.
February’s conference is being designed to attract just such a dual audience of campus and senior chapter members. Lou Morgenier, S.A.M.’s director of campus chapter operations, was present at the luncheon and gave a report on plans for the February 13-15 conference. SAM-NI
