Beginning with the winter issue, S.A.M. Advanced Management Journal will regularly include a four-page edition of News International. The six-page, bimonthly newletter is being discontinued in its present format after this issue. The decision by S.A.M.’s board of directors to incorporate NI in AMJ was made at its recent meeting, September 13, in Chicago.

The board based its decision on the findings of a survey of student and senior chapter members. By their responses, members indicated that the newsletter was too much and that, given the limited amount of time avail- able to them for reading, they would welcome more concise reporting from headquarters.

The vote by the board on NI was one of a number of items on the agenda. The directors appointed David Garbarino, past president of the San Francisco chapter, director of area #12, replacing Leslie Simmonds who has become president of the San Francisco chapter. The board also received updates on, among other things, the status of the 1981 national conference to be held April 27-29 in Williamsburg, Virgina; the continuing effort under way to increase S.A.M.’s membership; the new campus programs developed for 1980-81; and a training session for regional vice-presidents and area directors held that morning before the meeting.
