The board of directors has voted to incorporate the Manager’s Advancement Program (MAP) into S.A.M.’s operation. Previously run as part of AMA’s Young Adult Program, MAP is felt to have great potential for our graduating student members of S.A.M. and to be an excellent outlet for publicizing the Society.
MAP is a five-day course in practical management geared toward the individual who has 0-2 years of managerial experience. The course is held at AMA’s “Grove” in Hamilton, New York. S.A.M. Executive Director Bob Dimit told the board in his report that the course would most likely appeal to the associate 11 members now enrolled or who are in the process of being enrolled in S.A.M.
With the S.A.M. campus division steadily increasing in size, there is a potential of 8,000 to 10,000 graduates per year. “We are building our own market for this program,” says Dimit.
Dimit foresees a very bright future for the program, particularly since its marketing is in the hands of S.A.M.’s new account executive, Joan Milczarski. Joan is working on ideas for revamping the program, and she is considering changing its title. The meeting dates for 1980 have been approved and are as follows: April 28-May 2, June 23-27, July 7-11, and October 6-10.
The board of directors discussed the MAP in detail at the board meeting on October 26. When a vote was taken, the motion passed unanimously. SAM-NI
