At its recent meeting in Pittsburgh, the S.A.M. Board of Directors voted to give Allin Jackson a Special President’s Award for New Chapter Development. The award recognizes the achievements of the energetic national vice-president in chartering new chapters. Only a month ago Jackson watched as the Montgomery Area chapter received its charter, the sixth chapter founding that Jackson has been responsible for since 1971.

The other chartering’s he’s been behind are Central Virginia, Piedmont, Peninsular, Western Ohio, and Toledo. When asked if he has a seventh chartering in mind, he replied, “Sure, by next fall I think we’ll be able to bring Birmingham, Alabama, into the fold.” SAM-NI
