TRENTON – Six resort area residents were among the 283 students granted degrees at Rider College’s 95th Annual commencement exercises Saturday.

They included Jerry Monblatt, Leslie Kaplan and Jerome E. Rosen of Atlantic City; James J. O’Brien of Longport and George H. Kisby and Miss Shirley Ann Rettberg of Ventnor.

The commencement address was delivered by U.S. Senator Thruston B. Morton of Kentucky, chairman of the Republican National Committee. He also received an honorary Doctor of Laws degree.

Receiving the same honorary degree were James A. McFadden, director of administrative services for RCA’s research plan in Princeton, and Robert E. Slaughter, vice president and director of McGraw-Hill Book Co., Inc, New York City.

Monblatt, son of Mr. and Mrs. David Monblatt, 5 S. Haverford Ave., received is B.S. in Commerce degree with a major in business administration. Married, he was vice president of the Marketing Club and a member of Phi Sigma Epsilon fraternity and the Society for Advancement of Management.

Kaplan, son of Mrs. Sarah Kaplan, 114 Pacific Ave., was granted a B.S. in Commerce degree with a major in business administration. An Army veteran, he was a member of the Society for Advancement of Management, Finance Society, Hillel Club, and Zeta Beta Tau fraternity. He plans to work for a mutual insurance company in Philadelphia.

Rosen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Philip Rosen, 22 S St. Catherine’s Pl., received a B.S. in Commerce degree with a major in management. He was a member of Zeta Beta Tau fraternity, Society for Advancement of Management and the Hillel Club.

O’Brien, son of Mrs. atherine O’Brien, 16 N. 32nd Ave., received his B.S. in Commerce degree with a major in business administration. He was president of the Varsity R. Club, a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity, Newman Club, Society for Advancement of Management and manager of the varsity basketball team.

Kisby, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick R. Kisby, 18 S. Melbourne Ave., was granted a B.S. in Commerce degree with a major in business administration. He held offices in Kappa Phi fraternity and was also a member of the Society for Advancement of Management. Miss Rettberg, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest E. Rettberg Jr., 103 S. Princeton Ave., received an Associate in Arts degree with a major in secretarial science. A graduate of Atlantic City High School, she was a member of the Women’s Athletic Assn.
